TABLE WITH 7 LEGS is a metaphor for my family.
In my childhood and for most of my life, the table aroused anxiety, reluctance, and discomfort in me. Growing up in a dysfunctional family - my father was an alcoholic - the table was associated with oppression, not with a meeting, conversation, being together, being listened to. Working on myself, being on therapy - inspired me to try to regain this "space" that I had abandoned.
While working on the table, I felt that I had to visit all the places I had lived. Between June and August 2018, I visited 5 cities or villages and 9 houses. Together with the table. My daughter or mother accompanied me. At the end of the project, I asked my relatives to share their reflections on individual family members, using the metaphor of a "leg". The film that accompanies the installation - Table with 7 Legs - is a record of my "journey into the future through the past".
